Managing the power of your Dedicated server
From the first block, you can check your server's power status. You can manage its power via the 'Power Off', 'Reset', and 'Reboot' buttons below.
Accessing your server's console
Sometimes you may lose connection to your server, because of some IP or Firewall configuration.
Our new Dedicated server control panel, provides you with an easy way to connect to your server's console via VNC, just like you're in front of the server.
You can access your server's console by clicking the 'Open Console' button on the top-right of the Reinstallation/Rescue Mode block.
After that, the console will open in a new window. If you use a pop-up blocker, you can click 'If your browser blocks popups, you can access the console via this link.'. You can also copy that link and paste it on another tab.
From there you can manage your server effortlessly. If you wish to send keystrokes, you can use the first button, and if you wish to copy and paste some commands, you can use the mini clipboard button to edit the Clipboard's contents and paste them by pressing CTRL-V in the console.
Managing your PTR/RDNS records for your assigned IP addresses
You can manage your PTR/RDNS records and add descriptions from the IP assignments tab.
You can read more on how to set RDNS in this article: Setting the RDNS / PTR records for your Dedicated server
Resetting the Root password.
If you forgot the root password, don't fret. Our control panel has an easy option to reset it.
To reset your root password, go to the Reinstallation/Rescue Mode block and choose the 'Rescue Mode' tab. After that choose the Reset Admin Password option and enter the new root password below.
After clicking 'Start Rescue', click 'Start Password Reset'.
Then the system will reboot and reset its password. If the password reset is unsuccessful, you may try to reset it using the System Rescue CD.
Rebooting into Rescue Mode
If your system is corrupted or needs a password change, you can use the built-in System Rescue CD. To boot to it go to the Reinstallation/Rescue Mode block and choose the 'Rescue Mode' tab. Choose the System Rescue CD and enter a password, which will be used to access the rescue disk. Then click 'Start Rescue'.
After that click on 'Start Rescue' once more to boot the Rescue CD.
The IP address, username, and password will be displayed after everything is ready. You can use any SSH program to access your server.
Reinstalling the OS on your Dedicated server
If you wish to try a different OS for your application or start with a clean installation, you can reinstall it via the control panel.
Go to the Reinstallation/Rescue Mode block and choose the 'Reinstallation' tab. Then choose the OS you would like to install. Set a new hostname and password and then click 'Start Reinstallation'.
After that click 'Start Installation' to confirm the server reinstallation. All old data will be deleted and replaced with the new OS installation.
